Additional info
Gergeri is the seat of Rouvas municipal unit in Heraklion regional unit in the Greek island of Crete. The population was 1,440 in 2011. Gergeri's location is at a region called "Pano Riza" of Psiloreiti's, and in that region there are also the villages Panasos, Nivritos, Zaros, Vorizia and Kamares. Nowadays, everyone in Gergeri and in Pano Riza is proud for the surplus of companies in Gergeri, and for the football club Rouvas F.C., which now is playing on Football League 2. Near Gergeri also is the Rouva's Forest, which is very famous and very beautiful. During the Greek War of Independence the Commissioner of Crete, Emmanouil Tombazis, gathered 3,000 Cretans in Gergeri to face a force of 12,000 Turkish-Egyptian soldiers at Ayia Varvara. On August 20, 1823 and despite a valiant defence against the much larger and better organised force, the Cretans had to retreat after losing 300 men in the battle at the village of Amouryelles.
The Messara Plain or simply Messara is an alluvial plain in southern Crete, stretching about 50 km west-to-east and 7 km north-to-south, making it the largest plain in Crete.
The Asterousia Mountains are a range in southern Crete separating the Messara Plain from the Libyan Sea. Evidence of ancient Cretan cultures have been found in excavations performed within sites contained in this range; moreover, one of the most significant Minoan sites on Crete has been excavated at nearby Phaistos to the north; apparently, the Phaistos palace was designed to permit views over the expansive Messara Plain and the Asterousi Mountains. A further historical name for this range is reported by Encyclopædia Britannica as the Kofinos Range, named after the highest peak of Asteroussia, Kofinas.

Camera on the website

Is it worth to set up a live camera in your website such as Greece webcam?

Adding a live camera in your website is actually an excellent method to advertise your business. It doesn't matter whether it is an internet site of a seaside resort, a city service, a website of a guesthouse or a ski lift, or a blog focused on tourism. A live ip camera view will certainly have a good impact on the traffic on your website. Moreover, the view from a live camera, for example Greece:

  • complements the content on the site and allows for the reception of the message;
  • attracts users from numerous locations and increases the chances of finding you on the Internet;
  • keeps potential clients on the site;
  • strengthens the trust of online users in the observed place and adds to its reputation;
  • it supports the promotional activities of tourism and also hospitality businesses - a live camera is going to be a very good addition to the website of a facility for rent, ski resort, swimming pool, museum, zoo, botanical garden and many other interesting facilities;
  • allows to check in real time important information for travellers, for example climate, parking situation or traffic in a given city;
  • works well for gaining backlinks - links leading to your website from some other portals, which translates into more efficient building of the position in Google;
  • might have educational worth if you intend to show various attractions, e.g. nests of endangered species, breeding centers, bodies of water, parks, etc.

You can shoot whatever you want. You are basically limited only by your will and... GDPR regulations. You can easily add a live camera in your website.

Great quality of the camera, Fantastically reproduced colors. You can observe perfectly what is happening in the area. Using the live camera you are able to practically feel like you were there. I also appreciate the insight into the various weather parameters. Excellent to have the camera in the exact location I need it.

The whole world is really big that we cannot visit it all. Even though tourism is my hobby and I have visited a lot of places all around the globe but being a human being, I have limits. This website has appealed me a lot and I am a regular visitor of it as it allows me to know our world better and it enables me to virtually visit those places that I haven't physically discovered.
